Important! SMEs are only available to partners who opt-in to the FastTrack Ready Partner Program.
The FastTrack Migration SME program is available to assist those customers who have struggled to onboard the FastTrack Migration Benefit or have a unique situation requiring a migration subject matter expert (SME) to assist.
Details
- Initial resource assignment will be for 2 to 4 weeks depending on the engagement.
- Migration SME can be extended but cannot exceed 8 weeks.
- Migration SME is NOT dedicated to the customer. They provide ad-hoc support as needed.
Scope
- Project planning and scoping help
- Education about the Migration Benefit
- Migration roadmap awareness
- Fill in knowledge gaps
- Unblock customers by helping with migration prerequisites
- Technical resource by migration type
- Shares proven practices around the FastTrack process and FastTrack tooling
Out of Scope
- Hands-on keyboard
- Code/Script delivery
- Any request for work and/or delivery outside of the FastTrack Service Description

- Pre-Sales: Migration-specific concerns driving the decision to move to M365
- Complex infrastructure
- Size
- Strategic customer
- Market win back
- Compete scenario
- Historical migration efforts have proven unsuccessful
Application Process
- The partner should reach out to their Partner Success Manager (PSM) to ask for a migration SME. PSM will provide instructions on how to request a Migration SME.
- Approval or Denial. A decision will be made within 2 weeks.
- Extensions would follow the same process as the original request.
