AI Business Solutions & Security Insights release: Copilot Growth Opportunities now available for SME&C - SMB Customers

We’re excited to announce that SME&C – SMB (Small Medium Enterprise & Channel – Small & Medium Businesses) tenants are added to the Copilot Opportunities experience within the AI Business Solutions & Security Insights in Partner Center.

Multiply your Insights with SMB Data 

In late summer, we expanded your Copilot Opportunities insights in Partner Center with detailed customer targeting, whitespace analysis, agent usage data, and improved opportunities using detailed reasoning and AI-driven insights. This data enables you to: 

  • Track total eligible Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses and seat whitespace to gauge opportunity size.
  • Monitor Copilot usage by licensed and unlicensed usage, tenant Chat MAU, and free-to-paid conversion. 
  • Optimize customer engagements based on propensity for acquisition, monetization, and growth.
  • Assess Copilot license expansion potential using correlated signals and public customer signals. 
  • View detailed MCI incentive eligibility to accelerate customer engagements and impact. 

Today’s Copilot Opportunity release now includes SME&C SMB tenants alongside Enterprise and SME&C Corporate tenants. This data expansion greatly boosts your Copilot's customer growth opportunities in ASPX. SMB tenant data appears by default in the Opportunities tables, KPIs, and charts. To view only SMB tenants, filter by the Tenant Segment column.  


 

Upcoming releases  

  • Expanding E3/E5 Opportunities to include SMB customers
  • Addition of CSP renewals
  • New sales recommendations for E3/E5 opportunities aligning with Microsoft Field
  • Detailed CSP association by Tier 1 and Tier 2, including your reseller partner names
  • Improved performance to reduce data load times and resolve timeout issues for E3/E5 Opportunities, benefiting partners with large customer bases. 

Known issues and limitations  

  • Limitation: The Copilot Opportunities tab currently only shows customer opportunities for tenants with more than 150 M365 licenses in the Enterprise segment and more than 50 M365 licenses in the SME&C segment. The Copilot Opportunity report excludes customer data below this license count.
  • Limitation: Our download file is currently limited to up to 5,000 tenants in the Copilot Opportunities tab due to performance and scale constraints. We have planned several improvements to eliminate this restriction in an upcoming release. If you have many tenants, we recommend using our API, contact PXPartnerSupport@microsoft.com for details and onboarding. 
  • Issue: Partners with many customer associations in the Enterprise and SME&C might see a slightly higher load time of data in the various information panels (like the MCI eligibility or subscription flyout) or when sorting/filtering data. 
  • Issue: Next data refresh post-release will only resume on November 10, 2025, and will follow normal refresh cycles as noted in the Learn page.
